Woodville Tompkins Technical Career InstituteWoodville-Tompkins CTI Club Raises $300 for Breast Cancer Awareness
Students from Woodville-Tompkins Technical Career Institute supported Breast Cancer Awareness month by raising over $300.00 during October. Pink Ribbons were sold on both the main campus as well as the Annex, and students and faculty were provided with literature on the ‘ABCs of Breast Health’ and ‘Is it time for your yearly mammogram?’. Students from the Early College Program participated in the fund raiser at the Annex. Displays were posted throughout the schools. The fund drive was sponsored by the CTI Student Organization (Career and Technical Instruction) students who sold pink ribbons in the front lobby as students arrived each day, and the ribbons were available in the school stores. A check for $300.00 was given to the American Cancer Society to promote breast cancer research on Thursday, November 20th. CTI students Kelli Newman and Marion Youngener presented the ceremonial check to Ms. Kylene Hartsfield and Ms. Amy Riesinger of the American Cancer Society on the main Woodville-Tompkins campus. Woodville-Tompkins Technical & Career Institute is a service school where student take courses in their career path choices.
